My visit at the „I am looking forward to the summerparty“ in Tripsdrill - my quasi first time, by Steffi
For me it was actually the first Live-Act, which I visited personally. OK, I was at one of the comeback show, but you can’t really count that. On the one hand I was sitting in the hindmost corner and on the other hand I had fever of maybe 40 degrees, I think, so that I noticed the show only in a delirium. Therefore you can say that Tripsdrill was my premiere
The outward journey
When the information came that limahl will be the headliner on a big open Air Party in Heilbronn, my first thought was “shit, so far away again”. The journey last 3 or 4 hours anyway. And at this time I was still the type of woman who never would drive so long only to get on a concert. But you see how it changed.
But now I have a nice mail friendship (now a friend) from Frankfurt. She said, that Heilbronn isn’t so far away form her. Well, and if you think long enough about it, you will find a common-sense reason to go to the concert.
I convinced myself, because I wanted to visited Frankfurt and Heilbronn, so I said to myself, I would drive because of the culture.

So the tickets was ordered
So, I setted of on 04/06/2004 from Düsseldorf to Frankfurt, to get to know my friendship personal. Of course on Friday we first wanted to see Frankfurt anyhow, but instead we watched Limahl-DVD’s for hours, to warm up for the next day.
On the next morning we drove to Heilbronn, of course hearing a Limahl-CD in the car. After maybe 1,5 hours we found this little city, and we first watched the Centrum. The weather indeed was everything but not good. It was raining cats and dogs. We was a little bit worry about the open air party.
After we were wet through, we decided to search our little pension in Cleebronn. This wasn’t so easy, and that even though Cleebronn is a very, very small city – but even there you can loose one’s way.
But we also took this hurdle.
The Party
We arrived at maybe half an hour before the beginning. The weather changed its mind, and the sun tried to struggle through the clouds. The first activity was to find all the other fans, because we had never seen us before. So took the handy out and to phone as long as we stood vis a vis, and identify because of the handy. And we make it too.
We were standing directly in the front, so that we had the luck to get in the first row. The party began a little bit late, but it didn’t broke of the good mood. First Markus appeared with a female partner and they fired the mood. Then Hubert Kah came, and I have to say he is a little bit strange like he was in the eighties
But then a short time after ten o’ clock, the act came we all fans were waiting for – Limahl. He appeared with 4 dancers, and started with the instrumental song form the white feathers album “Kajagoogoo”.
He wore his favourit „nippleshirt”. After he acclaimed the audience, and presented us his progressed german knowledge, he went on with “too shy”.
It seems that he was in a very good mood, and was sedulous smiling to the audience. I believe, that everyone was thinking sometime the smile was only for her.
The performance of „love is blind“ was amazing, and he surprised us with some german lines.
He thanked us for our support at the comeback show and rewarded us with some of his performed songs in the CBS. For example “can you feel the love tonight” or “the way to your heart”. The audience was in a good temper.
After a short break, in which he changed his shirt, he of course did not keep back “the neverending story”. He animated the audience to sing along.
After this he gave some autographes to the audience. I didn’t get anyone of these cards, but I should not miss out.
At the end he had to give a cd “the very best of kajagoogoo and Limahl“. He hold it to the audience and the hands was stretched out to him. In the first moment I still thought that you shouldn’t do that with 34. But hey, I am a youthfully 34 year’s old woman, and furthermore I was 33 for four days. So I reached out my hand too. Well, he looked at me, then at my hand and gave me the cd. “Wow” I thought – it could not become better.
But then he delayed his hand to me and I took it enthused. There we stood vis a vis eye to eye and hand in hand. I think, at that time I first realized, that I was holding Limahl’s Hand, and I numbed, I think. If that would have been happened to me as I was 13 years old, I think I would topple down, and hie woould had to reanimate me :-). Well, but anytime he let lost his hold on my hand, and went on with his show.
At the end he performed another version from “too shy” and then he said good bye for this evening.
For me I have to say it was an amazing evening, and this year I got my most beautiful, even if advanced birthday present
Anyhow you can say that a dream I have once time when I was 13 came true after 20 years.
