A weekend in Oranienburg from August 14th – August 15th 2004
- a personal report by Steffi und Bejay

Bejay:
Right after Limahls gig in Gronau I recognized that it was probably his last show for me. Sure, there was the performance in Oranienburg, but the driving time would last 6 hours and I never wanted to drive that far for a show. But my boyfriend was really enthusiastic about the idea. But another problem was I had to work the whole weekend, and it was nearly impossible to exchange. But I didn`t gave up trying and after 2 weeks it was done. We ordered the tickets and booked in the same Hotel together with Steffi,TinaS and Skorkat with her boyfriend.

On Saturday the 14th my mobile awoke us shortly past 3 in the morning. After 5 hours we reached Berlin. We had lots of clouds and rain on the ride, but we were still full of hope for some sunshine. When we arrived in Berlin I got a short message from Skorkat, she already arrived too and we made an appointment at the “Gedächtniskirche”. Steffi and TinaS came a little bit later.

When I heard about the appearance in Berlin, I was thinking about, if it is not too exaggerative to drive to Berlin for this. After mulles over for a little while, TinaS and I decided to visit the appearance, and interlinked that with a extended weekend. The hotel was booked fast, because of Internet
Then came the problem how to arrive to Berlin. The train was very expensive, and the car wasn’t possible, because TinaS lives at the other end of Germany. After all I decided to take the plane. It was much cheaper and definitely faster.
In thr meanwhile Bejay could exchange her duty, so that they could take me for the way back  form berlin in their car.
Bejay and Skorkat with their friends had booked a room in our hotel, so that we was looking forward to great weekend
Already on Friday morning I flew to Berlin and in less than one hour left the plane. A little bit later i met TinaS and we visited the Kurfürstendamm. There was a big village fair at that time.

At the evening we drove to our hotel in oranienburg

At the next forenoon the handy rang and Bejay informed us about their arrival and we directly went to our meeting point in front of the “Gedächtniskirche”

Steffi und Bejay:
For sure we were more than happy to see us again and we gabbed lots like only women and Limahl Fans can do. :-))

We all together made a little Berlin sightseeing tour. I (Steffi) and TinaS clambered the 285 stairs of the “Siegesäule” of Berlin. At all events it was very amused, and you can say, we all got along with each other.

At about 4 p.m. we went to our hotel in Oranienburg. We opened the car door and we listened to a well known voice singing ‘The NeverEnding Story. The Soundcheck! We (Steffi and Bejay) went a bit nervous and we decided to take a look. Also Skorkat decided to come with us. Okay, standing at the entrance we were able to hear his voice but unfortunately the facilities obstructed the sight.

So we decided to check-in and went back to the entrance at 6 p.m. It was really crowded, but we made it to the third row right in front of the stage, yeah. The weather was wonderful and we really had a great view. The show started at 7 p.m. right on time with a guy named Hubbertz. In the 80s he was the front-singer of a German band called UKW, which is known for a music style called “Neue Deutsche Welle”. Okay, I`m (Bejay) not really fanatic about German Music, but he was in a great mood and definately the right person to start the show. I (Steffi) remembered well the old songs, and I have sung along assiduously

Then we were introduced to a guy called Axel Herrig, which is the leading character of a new Musical called Falco Meets Amadeus. He absolutely was a Falco lookalike, he had nearly the same mimic it was just great. His show was phantastic and the fans really wanted more.

Our feet began to hurt, because every artists perfomed maybe 45 minutes, but we beared up.:-)

For Falco then Benjamin Boyce entered the stage and lots of fans pushed us right to the front. Ben was full of enthusiasm, We really love his interpretation of Rebel Yell, we were freaking out. He also gave us a 45 minute performance and seemed to be really surprised about the enthusiasm of the fans. In addition he sang Rebel Yell in a really powerful version, just great, oh dear that really gave us goose skin :-) A great gig.

When Benjamin left the stage everyone was shouting for Limahl. But instead of Limahl the presenter started to sing some kind of song and we were shouting more louder for our artist. After ages she or Limahl had pity with us and the lights went down. Finally his show started with the instrumental K.A.J.A....G double O, G double O and his two dancers came dancing on the stage. The hurting feet was forgotten and all the fans pushed to the stage and I (Bejay) found myself right in the middle of the second row. I had a great view. My (Steffi) view wasn’t so good, because now the fans huddled together a little bit. And for me as a person with a small size it could be a little problem. But I could find my looking hiatuses , and it’s funny that the most of the limahl fans are not so tall.

And finally there came our star, Limahl. Unfortunately the technic was not on our side and the microphone decided to refuse its service. Limahl was very professional and let the show go on, after a while everything was alright, Limahl apologized and carried on.

He laughed a lot and announced nearly every song in German. He carried on with Too Shy followed by Love is Blind. An ocean of lights lit up, it was just wonderful to see all the fans sing along. Afterwards he gave us a thank you for our support at the Comeback Show and played his best songs. It follows “You to me are everything”, “Never can say goodbye” and the song he became the most votes for “Can you feel the love tonight”
