The Comeback Show

On 9/2/2004 a show startet on german television, with which Limahl with meanwhile 45 years old, got the chance to get contact with germany again.
The concept of the show was, that artists, who were great stars sometimes – but now are not in the charts any longer, got the possibility to enter a contest. In the case of winning they got a record contract and so the chance of a comeback
Arabella Kiesbauer presented the live-show, which took place every Monday in cologne.
In several mottoshows the artists had to present songs of other artists, and they are judged by a jury and the audience. He who has the least number of points was dropped out of the show.
The other member of the competition who meet the challenge beside Limahl were Haddaway, Chris Norman, C.C. Catch, Coolio, Emilia, Markus, Benjamin Boyce, Jazzy and the Weather Girls.
Even if the fancommunity was not so big for Limahl at the beginning of the show, it grew up from show to show. The earlier fans of the eighties waked up again and lapsed into the same euphoria, as they were, when they were a child. As per some assertion of some fans and because of my own sensation I would say one feels like a teenager again, even if you are over 30 or 40. One started to collect fotos, to ask for autographs or to make gifts and send letters to Limahl.. The different is, that we now have the money to drive to the concerts, even if they are not nearby – that wasn’t possible as we were 13.
But not only the older Fans had waked up again. 16 or 17 years old people could not avoid the sympathy and the great voice of him any longer.
It did not taken a long time and Limahl was one of the favorites of this show. But the destiny decided another way.
On 22.march 2004 Limahl dropped out of the show in a KO-Adjustment against Chris Norman.
After his retirement he gave us the promise, that we will hear form him further on („Believe me, I have Live after comeback“).
