Interview at the first Show
 

Limahl introduced himself and remembered of his songs. He also described his development after the eighties revival.

 

He wrote and produced in the studio before. In 1997 the first Best of Album was relreased, then a second, then a third…Then the radio station began to make eighties nights, then the night clubs began to make eighties nights. The telephone started ringing again for Limahl. You could say that since 1997 he was fulltime Limahl again. He travelled again through the world and performed usually something to do with the eightes.
There is nothing better for him then to perform live. It’s the reason why he came into the business. Comeback is a great opportunity, and he will enjoy it, if it is 2 or seven or more weeks, because he likes singing, that is what he wants to do.

Limahl presented his collection of gifts and cuddly toys, which he got from his fans. Joking he said, that he always asked his fans to send him jewels and cases of champagne.
He fooled around with Chris Norman and answered the question about his hairstyling. He was asked if he would be excited to perform love songs, and he meant that it is always excited to perform live on television.

How the “Nippleshirt got his name”
This I think is arguable the most amusing interview with him. Thereby his white Shirt with the holes in it came to its famous name “the nippleshirt”.
First he was asked, if it isn’t funny, that he could sing in the Mottoshow “Oldies” his own songs. Joking he answered that he would not have been as long in the business as his college Chris Norman. Chris Norman answered punchy that, if Limahl would be as long in the business like him, he would not need to wear shirts with holes in it. Then Limahl showed his nipple and was tickled pink, like the other comeback stars.
At last he answered the first question a little bit more serious. He said that his songs now go into the category “oldies”. He is happy about it, because the songs will bring the people back in their youth / childhood, like the song he will perform in this show brings him back in his childhood. One would remember the first kiss, the first friend and so on.
